The Coast


Tynemouth beach is a mile long strip of golden sand backed by dunes and a coastal path giving wonderful views of the area. Just up from the beach is the Blue Reef Aquarium boasting a 500,000 litre naturally-themed pool. This Blue Flag beach is very popular with surfers, beach sports, bathing and of cause just simply relaxing and watching the world go by.

At the south end of the beach is a lovely beach cafe. Crusoe's sells teas, coffees, other hot drinks and a selection of sold drinks and beautiful home made food.


Nearest metro station Tynemouth. With a 10-15 minute walk down to the Priory where the beach begins.


Cullercoats bay is a great beach ideal for families. Its backed by cliffs and surrounded by two short piers making it a safe place to come and enjoy the sand and sea with children.

Next to the bay there is a working Victorian lifeboat house and a marine laboratory. You can also launch you own boats from here for a small fee.


Nearest metro station Cullercoats. With a 5 minute walk down to the small bay.

Whitley Bay

Whitley Bay is nearly two miles of soft golden sand backed by a promenade and grassed park land. Further along towards St Mary's Light house are a 9 and 18 hole pitch and putt course.

At the south end of the beach is located the Broardwalk cafe and restaurant. The Boardwalk is open 365 days a year from 10am, offering a full menu including all day breakfast specials along with homemade soups, pies and much much more.


Nearest metro station Whitley Bay or Monkseaton. Both requiring a 10-20 minute walk down to the coast.
